About the Role
Express your creativity as an experienced pet groomer in our busy salons, focusing on grooming dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments to ensure they look their best. Additional responsibilities include brushing, trimming nails, and performing add-on services.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers and comply with all requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Interact with customers in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Practice timeliness, starting shifts on time and finishing pets before the promised time.
- Perform all aspects of the grooming service to Best Friends' expectations of quality.
- Groom all breeds, style all fur types, and complete specific breed styles requested by clients.
- Work in an organized and hygienic manner, keeping the work area free of hair and clutter and sanitizing tools and compartments between pets.
- Understand the purpose of products and use them appropriately, following label directions.
- Assist the manager in maintaining inventory by reporting stock levels.
- Treat equipment and tools with care and help with simple maintenance.
- Report mechanical failures to the manager in writing.
- Interact with the manager and center staffing in a manner to ensure the salon runs smoothly and meets the highest expectations of service and product quality.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience out of school or professionally trained.
- High school diploma.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets.
- Display a professional manner at all times.
- Upbeat and positive personality.
- Dependable and has reliable transportation.
