Nanook is seeking a Junior Power Analyst to join their front-office trading team in London. This role offers an analytically strong, early-career candidate the chance to enter a fast-paced environment focused on problem-solving and real-time decision-making within energy markets.
Responsibilities
- Analyze market movements
- Interpret data and model outputs
- Form clear, well-reasoned views on short-term power pricing
- Translate complex or incomplete information into practical, actionable insight
Requirements
- Strong academic background, ideally a STEM degree (Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Finance or Engineering)
- Excellent A-level results
- 6–12 months’ experience in a technical or analytical role or a relevant year in industry
- Experience with quantitative techniques such as regression and time-series analysis
- Coding ability in Python and/or R
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Genuine interest in markets
- Desire to work in a trading environment
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Intellectual curiosity
- Comfort working with data, models, and uncertainty
- Clear thinking
- Confidence to communicate ideas
