About the Role
We are hiring a versatile Claims Adjuster to join our small-but-mighty claims department. Reporting directly to the Director of Claims, this expanded role is responsible for handling a diverse, non-traditional risks and multi-line insurance portfolio. In addition to managing high volume personal property claims, specifically focusing on the contents of a claimant's storage unit, the successful candidate will evaluate and adjust commercial property and casualty (P&C) claims as well as specialized manufactured housing claims. This is a desk-based adjusting position focusing on streamlined digital processes.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust diverse property and casualty claims, including high-volume personal property contents, commercial property losses, commercial casualty liabilities, and manufactured housing claims.
- Negotiate effectively with claimants, public adjusters, legal counsel, and third-party representatives for equitable, timely resolutions.
- Process payments, issue settlements within authority limits, and maintain accurate claim records for operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical expertise for high-value, complex, or multi-faceted claims, ensuring thorough investigation and efficient handling.
- Adhere to company policies, state insurance regulations, and industry best practices while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Perform desk-based adjusting using modern technology, digital documentation, and remote evaluation tools.
Requirements
- Proven track record in adjusting commercial property losses and commercial casualty/liability lines.
- Direct experience handling claims related to manufactured housing, modular structures, and unique policy endorsements.
- Experience adjusting high-volume personal property claims.
- Active Adjuster License in good standing (or ability to quickly obtain reciprocal licensing).
