About the Role
Responsible for allocating and staffing legal matters within Jackson Lewis, initially supporting firm-wide efforts and potentially aligning with specific offices. Oversees attorney assignments based on skills, experience, and availability, developing an understanding of caseloads, strengths, expertise, capacity, and billable hours trends. Understands all aspects of each matter, including litigation complexity, when making assignments.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of matter staffing, understanding case needs and attorney knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Utilize firm resources and technology.
- Ensure attorneys' caseloads meet billable requirements.
- Handle matter transitions during attorney departures, leaves of absence, and new hire integration.
- Maintain a client-focused approach to strengthen relationships.
- Nurture and strengthen client relationships within local offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a litigation law firm.
- Proven work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
Skills
- Attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
- Advanced organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels within the firm.
