Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for lodging and site/yard prep, including USA markings, tickets, security, office space, and potential housing requirements.
  • Execute the construction portion of the proven process throughout the project.
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM) with PM/Superintendent buy-in, submit to Buyer for processing, and ensure material alignment with the schedule.
  • Manage onsite coordination of material according to logistical/staging requirements and schedule.
  • Plan safety into every project task, identifying specific hazards, required training/certifications, and specialized equipment or resources.
  • Ensure every person performs work safely, review JHAs/THAs, confirm competent persons are on site, and ensure PPE is worn at all times.
  • Assign tasks to crew members based on their skill set and physical capability.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to create and maintain a work breakdown structure and production plan for major activities.
  • Determine how data will be tracked on the project.
  • Use the project schedule and WBS to identify necessary resources (material, equipment, labor) for each activity.
  • Implement prefab and virtual construction opportunities with the PM and project team.
  • Coordinate schedules with VC and Manufacturing departments for item delivery.
  • Review and update the overall project schedule, WBS, and CTC with the PM, ensuring all information is accurate.
  • Perform daily documentation and submit required documents such as timecards, equipment utilization, daily reports, and production tracking using productivity software.
  • Comply with all rules, regulations, and company policies regarding work classifications, ratios, meal and rest periods, and work hours.
  • Communicate production goals daily and ensure necessary labor, materials, and equipment are available.
  • Continuously track daily production against goals to identify and remove obstacles, escalating issues to the PM and Superintendent if goals cannot be met.
  • Play an active role in employee development and disciplinary processes, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Execute the project closeout plan.
  • Perform tasks based on project needs.

Requirements

  • Active TX Journeyman License
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on construction trade or project experience in the electrical industry
  • Experience leading crews of 1–10 journeymen/apprentices on single or multiple projects
  • Must be able to complete all necessary competent person tests and certifications
  • Must be eligible for airport badging process
  • Must have a clean DMV record
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Skills

  • Experience in underground, distribution, and/or airport electrical projects
  • Experience in motor controls, PLCs, DC controls & AC power, contactors & relays, I/O, and control wiring
  • Experience in switchgear and transformers
  • Experience in motors, overloads, and MCCs
  • Airfield Lighting Experience (a plus)
  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 hour certified (preferred)
  • Safety NFPA 70E certified (preferred)
  • EV Experience & EVITP certified (preferred)
  • Solar Experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrate Safety Leadership traits (leading by example, planning safety, coaching, holding others accountable, utilizing expertise)
  • Ability to forecast 3 to 4 weeks
  • Proven ability to manage projects while efficiently coordinating and collaborating with the team
  • Proficient in scheduling and experienced with productivity software (e.g., MS Project or P6)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent follow-up skills internally and externally
  • Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues in a timely manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-orientated and well organized
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to the project team
  • Ability to build and maintain relations with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Ability to work with a team and independently
