About the Role
Boos & Associates, a rapidly growing accounting firm, seeks a Tax Senior to provide tax planning, compliance, and advisory services. This role is central to business needs in the Long Beach, CA office, offering an opportunity to contribute to firm growth and develop professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide client guidance
- Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Review financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to gather necessary information for tax filings
- Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks, to maintain accurate records
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and assist with financial statement preparation
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
Requirements
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty preferred
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, including Wills trusts estate law and Securities law
- Proficiency in tax accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Experience using accounting software, such as QuickBooks
- Ability to conduct thorough research on complex tax issues
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues
Location

Experience Level
- Three (3) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience required
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other relevant field required
- Master’s in accountancy or other relevant field preferred
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) preferred
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role beneficial
