About the Role

Lead a team of product designers working across Dialpad's ecosystem, shared services, and integrations. This role is a player/coach position, requiring both team development and hands-on design work, focusing on AI-powered business communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead an international team of product designers shipping features and integrations.
• Operate as a player/coach, developing the team and performing design work.
• Draw the best work out of designers through critique, pairing, and feedback.
• Set a high bar for work quality and release pace.
• Coach designers on systems thinking, designing for AI, and building trust.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to set direction and tradeoffs.
• Represent design leadership in the London location.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools fluently and help the team adopt them.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio.
• 1-2+ years managing designers, showcasing team improvement.
• Experience shipping AI-powered or AI-adjacent features.
• Fluency with modern design tools (Figma, Lovable, Vercel, Claude Design, prototyping tools).
• Actively use AI tools in the design process.
• Experience giving and receiving rigorous critique.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify and propose solutions for team inefficiencies.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and leading complex initiatives.
• Systems thinking approach to design.
• Clear and persuasive communication across disciplines.
• Focus on craft, detail, usability, and measurable outcomes.
• Ability to set a high bar without becoming a bottleneck.
• Portfolio demonstrating leadership impact and individual craft.
