About the Role
Jericho Road Community Health Center seeks a Compliance Manager to contribute to its mission of caring for communities and advocating for systemic health equity. As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), the organization focuses on making fundamental changes, advocating for social justice, and serving communities globally through clinics in Sierra Leone, Goma, and Nepal.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and improving the Compliance Program aligned with OIG guidance for FQHCs.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HRSA requirements and FQHC Conditions of Participation.
- Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop annual compliance work plans.
- Lead internal audits and monitoring activities (clinical, billing, coding, credentialing, operational).
- Ensure adherence to key regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, False Claims Act, and Anti-Kickback Statute.
- Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews.
- Develop and maintain compliance training content and requirements in collaboration with the Manager of Training & Volunteer Engagement.
- Ensure targeted training for high-risk departments (billing, clinical services, leadership).
- Promote awareness of compliance reporting mechanisms and non-retaliation policies.
- Oversee the compliance hotline and reporting systems.
- Investigate compliance concerns, allegations, and potential violations.
- Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution.
- Prepare reports for executive leadership and the Board of Directors/Compliance Committee.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure consistent implementation of compliance standards.
- Partner with site leaders to address compliance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership, finance, HR, IT, and operations to ensure integrated compliance practices.
- Support credentialing, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Collaborate on policies related to patient privacy, documentation, and billing integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of healthcare compliance experience, preferably within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-site healthcare environments.
- Experience with federal and New York State regulatory requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of FQHC regulations, HRSA requirements, and CMS guidelines.
- Expertise in healthcare billing, coding, and documentation compliance.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Effective communication and training abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites.
