About the Role
We are seeking a flexible, short-term contractor to support the Volunteer Department. This position will assist with volunteer engagement, training, communication, and deployment coordination, particularly during disaster response activities. Work hours will fluctuate based on organizational needs and disaster activity, ranging from 0–40+ hours per week. This role requires someone who is highly adaptable, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where schedules and workload may change quickly.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day volunteer engagement activities
- Assist with volunteer communication and coordination
- Manage volunteer deployment activities during disaster response
- Complete required onboarding and training (2–3 days)
- Be available on-call for disaster-related volunteer support
- Assist with volunteer scheduling and tracking
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Volunteer Department
- Maintain professionalism and responsiveness in high-pressure situations
