About the Role
In the role of Territory Operations Manager, you will serve as a regional expert for Patient Operations in cell therapy, actively shaping the advancement of clinical studies and commercial products. You will be responsible for establishing and implementing standards for treatment centers, defining strategies in close collaboration with the Regional Operations Director (ROD), and managing internal and study reporting. You will significantly contribute to strengthening AstraZeneca's presence in cell therapy by providing operational and clinical consulting, leading treatment center activation, and ensuring continuous operational and qualitative support post-activation.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic initiatives across the entire cell therapy lifecycle, from clinical development to market launch and beyond.
- Act as a central interface and leader within cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Medical Affairs.
- Build sustainable partnerships with treatment centers and medical stakeholders, such as physicians, nursing staff, apheresis units, and cell therapy labs.
- Contribute expertise to influence decision-making processes and advance projects at regional and international levels.
- Establish and optimize operational processes in treatment centers, focusing on apheresis and product handling.
- Serve as a technical expert and point of contact for cell therapy workflows.
- Provide operational and clinical support for studies and commercial applications, including center activation, training, and ongoing support.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., JACIE) and drive continuous improvement processes.
- Develop and implement training concepts for medical professionals.
- Manage complex operational processes across the value chain, including apheresis, logistics, storage, infusion, and Chain of Identity/Chain of Custody.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.
- Respond to SOP deviations with expertise and collegiality.
- Support and manage quality processes (deviations, CAPA, Change Control) in conjunction with the Cell Therapy Hub and Quality Assurance.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Healthcare (e.g., Nursing, Physician Assistant, Natural Sciences) or equivalent.
- Several years (approx. 8+ years) of relevant professional experience in cell therapy.
- In-depth expertise in cell therapy processes, regulatory requirements, and clinical/operational procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with internal and external partners and managing complex projects.
- Strong skills in developing and optimizing service structures and models.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across various stakeholder levels.
- Experience with quality processes (e.g., deviations, CAPA, Change Control).
- Very good written and spoken German and English language skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the region.
