About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Fiserv, you will design and deliver high-quality features and enhancements while participating in sprint planning and providing technical estimates to support our global fintech and payment solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of large features within the team
- Create technical design specifications in collaboration with engineering team members
- Produce highly secure solutions
- Tune distributed system performance to ensure compliance with SLAs
- Conduct peer code reviews
- Mentor other engineers to develop technical solutions and accelerate delivery
Requirements
- Experience with cloud computing and container-based distributed systems (Docker)
- Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL)
- Strong proficiency with SQL
- Understanding of higher-level RDBMS concepts including locking, transaction models, isolation levels, and deadlocks
- Significant experience with at least one dynamically typed, object-oriented programming language (strong preference for Python)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservice architecture
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
- Must possess valid and unrestricted work authorization
