About the Role

As a member of the Sustainability Infrastructure Services (SIS) Team, you will provide facility management and building engineering expertise for infrastructure projects. You will design conceptual solutions and operating plans, focusing on energy management, security fire systems, building automation, and operations and maintenance to solve critical customer needs. This role involves working on complex commercial, industrial, and institutional building projects from financial close through commissioning and start-up.

Responsibilities

Participate in design-build and SIS infrastructure projects as a Facility Management/Building Engineering subject matter expert.
Provide support to Site Customer Business Managers.
Design conceptual solutions and operating plans for sites.
Possess a strong understanding of the regulatory, legislative, and business environment, as well as procurement requirements unique to facility management.
Participate in design meetings to provide specialized engineering and energy advice.
Review operational sites for efficiency opportunities in engineering, energy, and operations.
Provide operational support to maintain critical key performance indicators.
Incorporate JCI capabilities into customer solutions, shorten development cycles, increase win rates, apply best practices, and minimize development costs.
Assist in shop drawing reviews.
Review design submittals to ensure major M&E and energy deliverables are carried out with no adverse impact to Facility Management.
Participate in design meetings with Architects, Consultants, and Engineers to review and influence the suitability of the design for the Operating stage.
Review equipment selection based on Energy Efficiency, Operations, Controllability, Maintenance, Accessibility, and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) analysis.
Review Mechanical and Electrical drawings and specifications to ensure suitability in relation to FM requirements.
Deliver to Project Co Energy Consumption Guarantee Target for NPV calculations.
Manage Energy Modeling Consultant and work with the D&C team on energy modeling inputs and reports.
Review M&E Value engineering proposals and provide evaluations based on FM requirements.
Assist Customer Business Manager in developing variations and change orders, assessing Operations and Maintenance and Life-cycle cost impact.
Manage and execute energy performance projects and performance reports.
Understand contract terms and conditions, specifically regarding KPIs and payment mechanisms.
Understand Performance Based contract terms and obligations.
Develop maintenance operating procedures, standard operating procedures, and emergency operating procedures.

Requirements

Completion of post-secondary education in engineering; Mechanical Engineering degree, Electrical Engineering degree, or technical diploma is preferred.
A combination of education and experience in construction and facility management will be considered.
Advanced understanding of building HVAC systems, energy management, security fire systems, building automation systems and services, operations and maintenance, and facility management.
Subject matter expertise in Building services engineering including HVAC, building automation, and fire and life safety.
Building design or construction experience with excellent knowledge of building-related systems and services.
Experience working in healthcare environments is an asset.
Ability to plan and execute projects with a high degree of effectiveness.
Demonstrates customer service orientation.
Possesses strong project management skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% required.
