About the Role

Senior Social Strategists develop and lead the activation of a brand's social media strategy and day-to-day decision-making. This dynamic role requires mastery of social media fundamentals, including strategy, channel and content plans, community management, influencer strategy, paid social, and measurement frameworks. A passion for social media is essential to leverage deep understanding into effective social-first content and experiences for clients. This role champions collaboration, working closely with brand strategy, comms strategy, creative, account leadership, and external agencies to achieve First & Only solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop holistic social media strategies, including audience definition, channel plan, content framework, content rollout plans, social voice, and measurement plans.
  • Participate in client intake calls and process client briefs to develop social-activation briefs for creative teams.
  • Partner and collaborate with creative and production teams to translate ideas into social-first applications within budget parameters.
  • Collaborate with the paid social team on campaign and evergreen strategies and deliverables.
  • Lead and manage brand influencer programs in collaboration with clients, creating influencer briefs.
  • Oversee the development of communication guidelines and social voice.
  • Oversee content and editorial calendar development.
  • Identify opportunities to proactively engage with relevant industry influencers and events on social media.
  • Provide ongoing thought leadership, strategic guidance, and industry best practices to clients and internal agency teams.
  • Leverage social tools and data (social-media-management platforms, social listening, influencer tools) to inform and optimize strategy and content approach.
  • Develop and/or oversee Points of View (POVs) on various social topics as needed.
  • Monitor trends and updates in the social media ecosystem, synthesizing them into clear brand implications and opportunities.
  • Own and manage platform partner relationships.
  • Actively participate in the growth and development of Social Strategists and Social Media Managers.
  • Collaborate with analysts to inform monthly dashboards and ad hoc reporting for continuous optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to fuel an ongoing learning agenda.

Requirements

  • Fluent across a variety of social channels as an active and passionate participant.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring creative content follows social best practices and brand guidelines.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics, insights, and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to craft and deliver compelling storytelling through client presentations, using data, insights, and narrative structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client and internal relationships.
  • Experience with large national brands is a plus.
  • Deep understanding and participation in emerging platforms (e.g., TikTok).
  • Working knowledge of social-media-management software and monitoring/listening tools is a plus.
  • Technical understanding and ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Working or applied knowledge of paid social strategies and tactics.
  • Routinely takes initiative to improve process, workflow, and methodologies.
