About the Role

This entry-level position, Compliance Inspection Helper 1, involves learning standard safety procedures and basic protocols for monthly facility inspections. The role requires learning directly from a Compliance Inspector, performing field tests, and maintaining compliance programs. A proactive learning approach is essential, including attending training, receiving, and maintaining certifications to ensure operations align with regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have the ambition to grow within the Compliance Department and strive to become a Compliance Lead Inspector at Island Pump and Tank.

Responsibilities

Comply with all regulations and company procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Comply with legal and company waste management methods, procedures, and regulations.
Drive company service vehicles to customer locations on prescribed routes.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for fluid flow, gas flow, chemical reactions, mechanical equipment, and other instrumentation systems.
Expand professional knowledge and skills through educational opportunities, professional networks, and staying abreast of industry trends.
Pump out petroleum-contacted water from tank and dispenser sumps.
Perform tank and line testing, spill bucket testing, and change filters in dispensers.
Check for proper placement of leak detectors and sensors.
Perform visual monthly UST inspections of service stations and accurately complete required UST compliance forms.
Perform inspections of fueling facilities, including visual observation and site condition surveys.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Ability to work independently without constant direct supervision.
Ability to meet company employment requirements, including passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR (if driving).
Willingness and ability to train and manage assigned helper(s).
Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
