About the Role

The California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) seeks a part-time Membership Assistant to support daily operations of membership and donor programs. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate gift processing, timely donor acknowledgments, and responsive customer service. Reporting to the Member Stewardship Manager, the assistant will process donations, maintain accurate records, prepare fulfillment files, and provide day-to-day support to meet stewardship and service goals, ensuring a positive experience for members and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to members and donors via phone, email, and mail.
  • Answer membership and general phone lines, routing calls and messages as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to messages in shared inboxes for timely follow-up.
  • Administer day-use passes, including issuance, inquiry response, and record maintenance.
  • Process removal requests for communications and update records.
  • Prepare, print, and mail acknowledgment letters and membership benefits packages.
  • Send removal and acquisition updates to external mail vendor.
  • Accurately enter membership and donor gifts into Salesforce from various sources.
  • Prepare and batch daily data files for Salesforce import, following standards.
  • Monitor gift entry for accuracy and flag discrepancies.
  • Assist with reconciling gift data between platforms.
  • Open, sort, and distribute daily mail.
  • Scan, file, and maintain organized digital and physical donor records.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Commitment to California State Parks Foundation’s mission and Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity initiatives.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and/or attend events across California, including weekends or evenings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Slack, Asana, and CRM technology.
  • Experience launching new ideas or driving process improvements.
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.
  • Ability to contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture.
  • Effective task prioritization and efficient accomplishment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and apply feedback, follow leadership, and align with organizational decisions.

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods, move across an office setting, communicate with colleagues and constituents, and occasionally move items up to 25 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary/Compensations

  • $30.77 per hour
  • Overtime rate: $46.16 per hour
  • Double time rate: $61.54 per hour
