About the Role
Info-Tech Research Group is seeking a Service Desk Technician Co-Op for the Fall 2026 term (September – December). This role is ideal for individuals currently enrolled in a post-secondary program who are eligible for a co-op placement and possess a strong interest in technology.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and repair computer hardware and peripherals.
- Prepare, image, and configure computers for deployment.
- Prepare and submit warranty claims with vendors.
- Manage incoming and outgoing shipments of IT assets.
- Assist new hires with their first-time computer setup.
- Track and maintain accurate inventory of all IT equipment.
- Coordinate the retrieval and processing of IT equipment from departing employees.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to verify accuracy.
- Perform daily inspections of AV systems.
- Maintain detailed records of imaging, repairs, shipments, and asset changes.
- Provide assistance to the Service Desk team in resolving technical support tickets and end-user requests.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a College Diploma/University Degree program in a related field such as Computer Systems (not development and/or testing).
- Eligible to participate in a co-op program.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in technology and hands-on technical and independent work.
Skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation skills with desire to understand and follow process
- Ability to recognize and prioritize critical incidents in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
- Working knowledge of Active Directory
- Working knowledge of Azure AD
- Application support experience with Microsoft Productivity Suite
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with Windows 10/11
- Experience with macOS
- Mobile device support – Android
- Mobile device support – iOS
- General understanding of network devices, including routers, switches, and access points
