About the Role
This role involves managing permits, overseeing small works projects, and championing health and safety within a client-facing corporate environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer client e-permit system.
- Review and approve supplier/contractor RAMS and permit applications.
- Ensure contractors complete their profiles within the permit system.
- Create Cyan access badge requests for BGIS contractors.
- Oversee all works to prevent clashes within building areas.
- Attend site permit meetings with clients and contractors.
- Add isolation details (smoke detection, sprinklers, electrical, mechanical) to permits.
- Access site fire alarm panel for smoke head isolation details.
- Raise SDSK tickets for required isolations.
- Act as a member of the BGIS site management team.
- Inspect works for compliance with submitted permits.
- Manage BGIS H&S systems on the portal.
- Serve as the point of contact for internal and external audits.
- Ensure all documentation is reviewed annually.
- Attend client vendor monthly H&S forums.
- Attend BGIS quarterly H&S Champions meetings.
- Oversee the BGIS toolbox program and attend engineers' Toolbox Talks.
- Provide required H&S information for monthly client and internal reporting.
- Carry out regular site inspections and report hazards/near misses.
- Liaise with stakeholders to determine work scope and impact.
- Provide quotes to clients for approval via the Astea system.
- Raise finance SDSK tickets for client approval.
- Liaise with contractors for quote submissions.
- Update the small works finance tracker.
- Attend weekly small works meetings with the client and provide updates.
Requirements
- A good basic education is essential.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Basic Mathematics skills.
- Formally trained in an engineering maintenance discipline to City and Guilds level 3 or equivalent NVQ.
- Engineering/technical background.
- Experience working in high profile, client-facing corporate environments.
- Minimum IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Ability to work with Word and Excel.
- Good motivational and influencing skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and find solutions.
- Proactive approach to tasks, deadlines, and workload.
- Effective communicator comfortable speaking and presenting at all levels.
- Able to interact professionally with vendor representatives at all levels.
