About the Role

As the most experienced member of the infrastructure team, you will be primarily responsible for the technical foundation upon which our development and consulting teams build their daily client work. Your responsibilities will combine in-depth technical system design with growing responsibility for processes and the team.

Responsibilities

• Actively support the build-up of a small, reliable, and effective infrastructure and IT service team.
• Share expertise proactively with colleagues.
• Guide the team in structured prioritization and task distribution.
• Collaborate on shaping a future-oriented infrastructure roadmap.
• Drive the advancement of our infrastructure architecture and the selection of new technologies.
• Administer and optimize self-hosted and cloud infrastructure (SaaS).
• Ensure system performance through regular patch management and review of backup and recovery processes (e.g., with BorgBackup).
• Work closely with developers and the platform team on development-adjacent systems (e.g., GitLab, Sentry).
• Implement technical measures for information security.

Requirements

• Professional in system integration with a passion for actively developing a modern system landscape.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in Linux System Engineering / Administration or comparable in-depth knowledge.
• Deep knowledge in the administration of Linux servers, container environments (Docker / Portainer), and ideally CI/CD systems (GitLab).
• Proficient use of automation tools (Ansible) and monitoring and observability stacks (Grafana, InfluxDB, Telegraf).
• In-depth understanding of computer networks.
• Experience with managing network services (e.g., WireGuard, Ubiquity, OpenID Connect).
• Experience with access and authorization management, e.g., with Google Workspace.
• Strong automation mindset.
• Reflective approach to new technologies (e.g., AI).
• Enthusiasm for Open Source.
• Strong communication skills.
• Solution-oriented.
• Ability to remain calm during unexpected challenges or incidents.
• Appreciation for cooperative collaboration across team boundaries.
• Ability to communicate technical topics understandably.
• Very good German language skills (min. C1).
• Good English language skills.
