About the Role

This program offers online and on-the-floor training to become a Nurse Aide. Successful candidates demonstrating strong customer service, reliability, teamwork, and work ethic may qualify for no-cost education assistance to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Nurse Aides and CNAs work under Charge Nurses, assisting residents with daily living activities as outlined in their care plans. The role requires compassion, friendliness, and a desire to help others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide residents with comfort and safety, detecting and reporting potential accidents or injuries.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with resident care policy and procedure.
  • Assist residents with daily requirements such as bathing, feeding, dressing, hair care, nail care, and observing food intake.
  • Move, lift, and transfer residents.
  • Utilize and log care provided into the Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Measure and record vital signs.
  • Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes of conditions to nursing staff.
  • Maintain care of equipment and supplies.
  • Walk with ambulatory residents or push them in wheelchairs.
  • Safely perform movements including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting over 50 pounds.
  • Answer call lights promptly, addressing resident needs or seeking assistance from nursing staff.
  • Provide good customer service with tactful and appropriate communication in sensitive situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator or Nurse Management.
  • Answer call lights (as Hospitality Aide).
  • Make beds and assist with maintaining resident rooms (as Hospitality Aide).
  • Pass water and support resident comfort (as Hospitality Aide).
  • Pass trays in the dining hall (as Hospitality Aide).
  • Assist staff with basic non-certified resident needs (as Hospitality Aide).

Requirements

  • Preferred experience as a caregiver.
  • Successful completion of a two-week introductory Hospitality Aide period, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and compassion for residents.
