About the Role

art-K Putney is seeking a passionate, motivated, and friendly Workshop & Party Assistant for a fixed-term contract during the summer holidays. This role involves assisting Art Leaders with the Summer Workshop program and delivering art-K Parties, contributing to a fun and engaging art club environment for children and adults.

Responsibilities

  • Assist running workshops and parties.
  • Provide ad hoc cover, including leading workshops and parties.
  • Prepare and set up materials for workshops.
  • Communicate project techniques and aims to students.
  • Demonstrate art techniques as needed.
  • Keep students engaged and provide alternative approaches.
  • Ensure learning aims are achieved.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
  • Create a safe, happy, and nurturing environment.
  • Assist in creating an ambient studio environment for parties.
  • Set up music for parties.
  • Prepare party projects according to requests.
  • Support children in completing art projects, encouraging creativity.
  • Assist the Party leader with breaks or mini dance parties.
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards in the studio, including washing tables, vacuuming/mopping, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Maintain hygiene for safe use of the space.

Requirements

  • Currently studying or have completed an art degree or equivalent skills.
  • Possess art skills in a range of mediums.
  • Experience teaching or working with children.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate to art-K Putney.
  • Embrace a growth mindset and be open to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Satisfactory completion of all pre-appointment checks.

  • Party Assistant rate: £10.99 - £17.05 (depending on age)
