About the Role

We are seeking a Segment Accounting Manager to lead a team in delivering strong, reliable monthly results. This role involves guiding and reviewing core accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and developing team members' skills. You will be responsible for segment-specific financial data, analyzing performance drivers, and communicating financial results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely segment-level financial data and supporting documentation to the SEC Reporting team.
  • Own the close process within your area, including reviewing accounting entries, balance verifications, and supporting analyses.
  • Review financial results and clearly explain key drivers behind deviations from actuals to plan.
  • Apply accounting standards under US GAAP alongside company policies, and support the review of technical accounting topics.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company reporting requirements.
  • Handle internal and external audit support, including preparation of audit documentation.
  • Implement recommendations and mitigation plans in response to audit findings.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of SOX controls and address identified deficiencies.
  • Work closely with regional Commercial Finance teams to understand business activity and accounting policy application.
  • Connect Commercial Finance and Technical Accounting to ensure clear information flow and prompt resolution of queries.
  • Lead and support a team of accounting professionals, fostering a connection between business operations and accounting outcomes.
  • Develop the team's understanding of how daily activities translate into accounting results and align with accounting standards.
  • Standardize and automate processes end-to-end, guiding the team to adopt and improve these methods.
  • Provide mentorship and regular feedback to help team members build skills and grow.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of dynamic accounting and finance experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • IFRS familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SAP and/or Blackline preferred).
  • Ability to lead and develop others.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with validated judgment.
  • Ability to clearly connect financial results to business activity.
