About the Role

The Religion teacher joins a collaborative, innovative Humanities division. This role requires interest in high school education, enthusiasm for teaching college and career readiness, and effective communication with adolescent girls. Key objectives include developing awareness of religious/Catholic values, fostering respect for diverse faiths and shared human values, and nurturing personal belief development.

Responsibilities

Teach five sections of grades 9-12, designing lessons, projects, and assessments that foster active learning
Plan instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of learners at various levels of intellectual and social development
Cultivate a positive, challenging, and equitable learning environment reflecting ICA’s mission for diverse student growth
Foster anti-racist, anti-bias education, multicultural teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy
Collaborate with the Dean of Curriculum & Instruction, Division Chair, and colleagues to develop engaging curricula with vertical and horizontal alignment
Provide academic support for students outside of class time, including office hours and homework assistance
Coordinate with Deans, Director of Guidance, colleagues, and/or parents/guardians to support individual student performance
Engage productively in all faculty, division, and collaborative team meetings
Participate in student life by chaperoning events, attending athletic games, moderating student clubs, or serving on school committees
Maintain student safety by supervising study halls, break/lunch periods, providing substitute coverage, and other assignments
Participate in admissions and enrollment events, HR-related training, and other duties assigned by the Principal

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in subject area
Strong knowledge of academic, socio-emotional, and life skills necessary for college readiness
