About the Role

The Björn Schulz Stiftung is seeking a Deputy Head of Nursing for their Sonnenhof children's hospice, starting July 1, 2026. This role involves providing the best possible care for guests, leading the nursing team, and ensuring quality standards. The position is available for full-time or part-time employment (35-40 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the best possible nursing and individual care for guests, considering medical orders and psychosocial needs.
  • Leading and professionally guiding the nursing team.
  • Monitoring the entire nursing and care process and ensuring quality standards.
  • Planning staff deployment in coordination with the admissions management.
  • Serving as the point of contact for the nursing team regarding professional matters.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training as a health/pediatric nurse or health/nursing.
  • Several years of professional experience in palliative care.
  • Successfully completed additional qualification in 'Palliative Care for Children and Adolescents'.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and electronic patient records.
  • Organizational skills, conflict resolution ability, flexibility, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and openness to engage with themes of illness, dying, death, and grief.
  • Mindfulness, respect, appreciation, and empathy in dealing with guests, relatives, and colleagues.
