About the Role

Underwrite a US Executive Risk account within Specialty Risks, provide underwriting counsel and advice, offer technical expertise, and enhance Beazley's market reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of US Executive Risk business.
  • Structure tailor-made solutions using underwriting knowledge to win and retain business.
  • Manage innovation and development of non-insurance service offerings.
  • Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios, taking corrective measures for profitability.
  • Evaluate appropriate risk premiums considering costs, reinsurance, and capital exposure.
  • Monitor peer underwriters for profitability and efficient administration.
  • Supervise assistants to ensure compliance with underwriting philosophy and policy.
  • Comply with Beazley's underwriting control standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with claims managers.
  • Advise, assist, and service clients on insurance and risk matters.
  • Foster positive client relationships.
  • Maintain good business relationships with brokers.
  • Promote other Beazley products to clients.
  • Develop standardized underwriting policy and best practice within Beazley.
  • Disseminate business and class knowledge within US Executive Risk and Specialty Risks.
  • Collaborate with peers to maximize business opportunities and profitability.
  • Share and gather knowledge across the Beazley Group for best practice and profitability.
  • Produce presentations and marketing literature.
  • Produce business plans and research documents for the US Executive Risk account.

  • Comply with Beazley procedures, policies, and regulations, including the code of conduct.
  • Undertake required training on Beazley policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • General commercial and financial knowledge.
  • Experience in the insurance industry.
  • Experience in US Executive Risk underwriting or broking.
  • Thorough knowledge of underwriting policy, philosophy, and practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting processes and systems.
  • Client service experience.
  • Result-focused, self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic.
  • Professional approach for interacting with managers, colleagues, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Salary/Compensations

  • $100,000 - $135,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
