About the Role
As the Principal Security Engineer, you will be the senior technical expert for security architecture, engineering standards, and security control design, working closely with SOC, platform, and technology leadership teams. You will own security design decisions, set technical standards, and be hands-on in implementing and improving security controls across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for security design decisions across cloud, infrastructure, identity, endpoint, and application domains.
- Own and evolve security architecture patterns, reference designs, and hardening standards.
- Define, document, and maintain security engineering standards, baselines, and configuration requirements.
- Own the technical quality of security controls, including configuration and rationale.
- Be hands-on configuring, implementing, and improving security controls where deep expertise is required.
- Lead complex or high-risk security engineering work, including identity, conditional access, endpoint controls, logging, monitoring, and cloud security.
- Work alongside the SOC Lead, providing design guidance, escalation support, and technical expertise.
- Provide technical assurance that security controls are implemented as designed.
Requirements
- Proven applied experience in a cyber security or security engineering role within Financial Services.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security controls at scale.
- Experience working with Microsoft security technology (Highly Desirable).
- Experience working with networking infrastructure (Firewalls).
- Experience working with Email Security platforms.
- Experience working with endpoint protection technology.
- Experience working with Identity and Access management.
- Experience in working with industry compliance and security standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST.
- Expertise in strategic planning, security standards, and frameworks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team player.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
