You are the Idea Team commander, process champion, momentum owner, team conscience, and cultivator of great ideas and talent. Your partnership with clients is vital for building trust and fostering an environment of bravery and optimistic problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and not just manage, fostering an environment that promotes risk-taking and bravery.
  • Lead by example, practice empathy, and set account and individual goals to help the team succeed.
  • Demonstrate cross-channel engagement and expertise as a leader of the integrated Idea Team.
  • Master managing up, down, and sideways within the organization.
  • Partner to solve real problems, leading insightful briefs and smart plans, then effectively selling them.
  • Engage in the work, partner with creative directors, inspire ideas, and build on others.
  • Engage clients about great ideas outside their business and set the stage for presentations.
  • Own responsibility for the success of client relationships.
  • Develop and conduct in-person and written client/agency relationship review meetings every three to six months.
  • Track results and lead optimization.
  • Serve as the standard-bearer for collaboration and integration.
  • Help clients succeed within their organization.
  • Ensure the agency delivers on commitments.
  • Understand how to build a scope of work and efficient staffing plans.
  • Manage P&L and identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the profitability of your account.
  • Cultivate an insatiable appetite for understanding and hone your craft.
  • Seek knowledge of the changing marketplace and emerging opportunities, then educate your team.
  • Be a student of both the agency's and client's businesses.
  • Train, guide, and empower team members, fostering safe risk-taking.
  • Provide radical, generous, and ongoing feedback.
  • Champion the agency and seek out new talent, diversifying teams for diverse perspectives.
  • Build your own skill set and seek out development opportunities.
  • Set the tone for conversations, acting as a level-headed voice of reason.
  • Demonstrate a commanding presence while actively listening.
  • Lead conversations while inciting participation.
  • Organize chaos and calm situations.
  • Drive processes and be involved.
  • Inspire action in your team.
  • Nurture ideas until they are robust and executed.
  • Identify areas for change and marshal resources to implement it.

Requirements

  • BA degree required.
  • 8-10 years of agency experience (preferred) or related communication-industry experience.
  • Understanding of advertising, marketing, paid and social media, creative, production, research, direct marketing, and finance.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented in a production-intensive environment.
