About the Role
AAMCO of Amityville seeks an A or strong B General Repair Diagnostician/Tech to maintain high service levels for customers. This role offers competitive pay, AAMCO training, and advancement opportunities. The center is located on Sunrise Highway with easy access to LIRR and Long Island beaches.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle automotive systems
- Remove and reinstall transmission systems
- Assist other technicians with technical activities
- Explain vehicle inspection problems to service writers and technicians
- Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques
- Professionally record findings for accurate repair cost estimation
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a General Automotive Technician
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Own professional grade tools for general repair needs
- Experience troubleshooting and conducting mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability testing
- Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
- Existing knowledge of transmission system removal and reinstallation is preferred
