About the Role

Support the daily maintenance, functionality, and safety of the hotel’s physical plant and guest spaces. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and serves as a key operational leader within a non-union luxury hotel environment. Schedule flexibility is essential, including weekend work and availability to adjust hours based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the hotel’s preventive maintenance program
  • Assign and complete work orders efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and life safety systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair chillers, pumps, motors, air handling units, electrical panels, and building controls
  • Ensure compliance with San Francisco building codes and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate logs and respond promptly to system alarms or mechanical issues
  • Partner with other departments to support daily operations and special projects
  • Oversee vendor work to ensure quality and compliance
  • Maintain luxury level presentation of guest rooms and public areas

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressive engineering or facilities maintenance experience, hospitality preferred
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and building management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Strong communication skills and service focused mindset
  • Flexible availability including regular weekend work
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments

Salary/Compensations

  • $45 to $50 per hour
