About the Role

This role oversees all finances, programs, staff, operations, transportation, property, and community relations for The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center, including supervision of the six-month residential substance abuse treatment program, Recovery Wellness Services (detox), and the Harbor House family shelter.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all programs and teams, including staff and leadership supervision.
  • Serve as primary contact for contract partners and licensing agencies (San Francisco Department of Public Health, Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, California Department of Health Care Services, UCSF Hospital, Adult Probation).
  • Coordinate financial matters with HLC Business Director and DHQ finance team.
  • Prepare annual budget for CFC approval.
  • Discuss monthly and quarterly financial reports with program directors to address financial issues.
  • Approve all invoices and expenditures through the accounts payable (AP) system.
  • Represent The Salvation Army at meetings with civic organizations, service clubs, and approved groups.
  • Attend weekly case conferences and advise program teams.
  • Serve on the HLC Participants Resident Council.
  • Serve as primary purchasing authority for all programs, ensuring cost efficiency and responsible resource use.
  • Maintain the HLC graduation list and coordinate weekly participant graduations.
  • Plan and develop additional resources and new programs to support families in Harbor House.
  • Plan and coordinate employee and participant holiday events with corps and special services leadership.
  • Coordinate and carry out the Christmas Kettle fundraising program with the Lighthouse Corps Officer.
  • Attend monthly SF Coordinating Council meetings at DHQ and represent Harbor Light Center in The Way Out program activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related field.
  • 5 years of management experience in the nonprofit sector at the agency director level.
  • CA driver’s license.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (obtain within first fourteen days of employment).
  • Tuberculosis clearance (obtain within first seven days of employment).
  • Experience and ability to work successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and other potential barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Skills

  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.

Experience Level

  • 5 years management experience in the nonprofit sector at the agency director level

Education Level

  • Master's degree in social work or related field
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Tuberculosis clearance

Salary/Compensations

  • $170,000-$175,000 Annually
