About the Role
The Solutions Architect drives the identification, scoping, and creation of technical solutions and proposals, including estimates, implementation, team structure, pricing, and contracts. This role provides thought leadership and applies industry knowledge to enhance service capabilities, address delivery challenges, and support research and development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements, challenges, and goals related to application and data modernization, including AI and generative AI initiatives.
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions leveraging various data technologies.
- Ensure solutions align with industry best practices, architectural principles, client terms, and relevant standards and regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the solution lifecycle, from ideation to implementation and ongoing support.
- Outline solutions, including diagrams, team member work estimates, timelines, and costs.
- Manage solution roadmap, planning, estimation, and initial delivery efforts through assessment and recommendations for successful delivery.
- Participate in RFx Responses.
- Work with Sales and Contract teams on Statements of Work to ensure proposed solutions are accurately translated into contracts.
- Collaborate with account executives to provide technical sales support for deal closure.
- Coordinate with delivery teams on project team members and assign appropriate teams to meet customer needs.
- Present case studies to customers on delivered work.
- Determine service fit for customer business requirements and direct them to appropriate consulting practices.
- Contribute to opportunity pursuits in landing, expanding, and protecting business.
- Collaborate with practices on the continued evolution of service offerings, presales, and go-to-market collateral.
- Ensure proper turnover from solutioning to Delivery, managing expectations, schedules, and ramp-up timeframes.
- Ensure client expectations are clearly communicated to Delivery, including environment, culture, key players, escalation points, roles, responsibilities, vision, issues, risks, and objectives.
- Participate in advisory and assessment activities.
- Manage client relationships through formal and informal status checks.
- Provide advisory and thought leadership support to clients.
Requirements
- Experience in software development project qualification (size, technology fit, skillset fit, delivery location selection, risk).
- Experience in leading and implementing Dashboards, ETL/ELT Development, AI solutions (software delivery leveraging DevOps), Data Platform, and Integration Solutions.
- Experience in leveraging capabilities, content, and assessment to develop solution vision with clients.
- Experience in providing advisory consulting and delivery of services in the practice’s areas of expertise.
- Consultative data engineering leader providing advice and expertise on Databricks with a deep understanding of cloud data services.
- Understanding of data platform services, including cloud foundations (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Landing Zones, software delivery/DevOps, integration, operations, and security technical capabilities.
- Experience packaging capabilities and solution content for sales and marketing activities.
- Ability to prepare value proposition and competitive positioning statements.
- Capability to provide feedback to practice leadership for developing, enhancing, and packaging new capabilities.
- 12+ years of experience in information technology and/or IT professional services.
- 5+ years in client-facing roles developing new business and providing project management and oversight within professional services.
- Hands-on experience in solution design and development with cloud-native architectures, microservices, containerization, and DevOps practices.
- Deep expertise in Databricks as a primary and Snowflake as a secondary.
- Deep understanding of Lake House, Data Lakes, Data Warehouse, and Medallion Architecture.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, Azure Pipelines, GCP Cloud Build, and Jenkins.
- Knowledge and understanding in creating ETL/ELT packages in Matillion, Informatica, DataStage, DBT.
- Knowledge of the three main cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks.
- Preferred experience in AI technologies applied to software development, automation, and business use case applications.
- Prior experience in engagement management and project management with full application development lifecycle using multiple methodologies (Agile, Scrum, RUP, Waterfall, etc.).
