About the Role

We are seeking a high-ownership Strategic Finance Lead to build the financial backbone of Frontera as we scale across healthcare services, technology, and emerging health-system business models. This role intersects strategic finance, accounting oversight, revenue visibility, and business partnership. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling and business analysis skills, healthcare business model fluency, and accounting depth to ensure accurate, explainable, and decision-useful financial reporting. You will partner with Finance, Operations, Product, Commercial, and Clinical leadership to improve forecasting, revenue and margin visibility, unit economics, and operating decision-making across Frontera’s hybrid services + technology model. This high-leverage finance role requires someone who can operate close to the business, build scalable finance infrastructure, and help leadership understand performance drivers across a complex healthcare + AI operating model.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models supporting operating decisions, scenario planning, board reporting, and investor narratives.
  • Analyze performance across healthcare services, technology, direct-to-parent, and commercial partnership models.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear insights for leaders across Operations, Product, Commercial, and Clinical teams.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, margin analysis, pricing analysis, and ROI analysis for strategic initiatives.
  • Define key financial metrics for each business line, including revenue growth, utilization, payer mix, gross margin, contribution margin, operating leverage, and unit economics.
  • Serve as a strong business partner, providing analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and practical recommendations.
  • Help leadership identify performance improvements, breakdowns, and necessary actions.
  • Build clean, consistent reporting across multiple revenue models (B2B SaaS, direct-to-consumer, clinical services, health-system/enterprise).
  • Develop clear views of revenue quality, gross margin, contribution margin, and unit economics across business lines.
  • Partner with Payor Ops, Clinical Operations, Commercial, and Product teams to improve revenue visibility and resolve financial reporting issues.
  • Support analysis of payer mix, service line performance, utilization, pricing, collections, and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Build reporting to understand performance by product, payer, customer type, region, and business segment.
  • Connect operational drivers to financial outcomes for faster, better decisions.
  • Own and/or oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, partnering with internal and external accounting resources.
  • Ensure financial statements, reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, and key accounting judgments are accurate and explainable.
  • Maintain accounting understanding while elevating financial reporting into clear business insight.
  • Partner with external accountants, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders on compliance, tax filings, audit readiness, and diligence support.
  • Ensure accounting processes scale appropriately across multiple entities, revenue streams, and business models.
  • Build trust in financial numbers without adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Improve financial reporting processes, billing workflows, documentation, and internal controls.
  • Partner with tech, operations, clinical, commercial, and payor operations teams to improve source data quality.
  • Identify and implement automation, tooling, and AI-enabled workflow improvements.
  • Use modern tools to reduce manual reporting work, improve data accuracy, and make financial insights accessible.
  • Help build scalable reporting infrastructure.
  • Establish practical internal controls appropriate for a Series A-stage company in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Support audit readiness, investor diligence, board reporting, and financial data requests.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience across strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, finance consulting, accounting, or operating finance.
  • Healthcare experience or strong healthcare business model fluency, ideally across digital health, healthcare services, payer/provider models, value-based care, health-system partnerships, or healthcare technology.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and business analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze revenue, margins, unit economics, operating performance, and business line performance.
  • Strong accounting foundation and ability to understand financial statements, close processes, revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with business leaders to translate financial and operational data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Comfort using modern finance tools, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity for executive, operational, and cross-functional audiences.
  • High ownership, high judgment, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
