About the Role
We are looking for a Nursery Cook to join our BRAND-NEW nursery settings in Islington, offering 100 childcare places. This role is for a Food Champion who sees the kitchen as a place where care, creativity, and community come together, and takes pride in keeping the nursery sparkling, safe, and welcoming.
Responsibilities
- Serve delicious balanced meals that children and parents trust and in accordance with the nursery's nutritional guidance for the under-fives
- Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen, always meeting food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Comply with all company policies around preparing and serving the food including managing various dietary requirements
- Keep the nursery sparkling, safe, and welcoming for the little ones who play, learn, and grow with us every day.
Requirements
- Has a great eye for detail and a genuine pride in their work
- Can work independently but is also happy to be part of a team
- Understands (or is willing to learn) basic health & safety and hygiene procedures
- Brings a positive attitude and a caring approach to everything they do
- Has a genuine love for working in an environment with children
- Can plan ahead, stay organised, and work independently
- Effectively communicates with colleagues and management regarding daily cleaning schedules, supply needs and any maintenance issues
- Applicants will need to show they have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS, reference and social media checks.
