About the Role

This role involves planning, implementing, and overseeing the Activities program for residents. It requires collaboration with Activities staff to create a diverse daily/monthly calendar suitable for all care levels, encouraging resident individuality, participation, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the activities program promotes independence, fulfillment, and accomplishment for residents.
  • Provide a well-balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to residents.
  • Routinely seek and incorporate resident feedback on activity preferences and suggestions for future programs.
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships to offer diverse choices for residents and promote joint programming.
  • Provide opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects within the surrounding community.
  • Ensure activity supplies are ordered and available for use.
  • Transport residents to various community activities and events.

Requirements

  • Energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative, and imaginative.
  • Able to communicate intentions and directions to residents and staff.
  • Effective, empathetic listener.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • College degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services preferred, or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers.
  • Current CPR/first aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no major violations.

Experience Level

  • Two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field (preferred)
  • Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults (preferred)
  • Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers

Education Level

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services (preferred)
