About the Role

This role focuses on improving critical product infrastructure for Airtable's evolving engineering organization, with an emphasis on scalable systems and excellent developer experience. Openings are available on the Compute team, managing a Kubernetes-based platform for all services including new AI services, and the Developer Platform team, building internal tooling, frameworks, and CI/CD systems to streamline developer workflows.

Responsibilities

Proactively identify and lead significant infrastructure improvements across teams to maximize business and engineering impact.
Address systems-level problems focusing on scalability, efficiency, reliability, and security.
Build clean, reusable, and maintainable abstractions for engineers.
Take full ownership of infrastructure components, including reliability, performance, efficiency, and observability in production.

Requirements

At least 8 years of industry experience.
Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies in a fast-changing environment.
Experience with databases, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and data infrastructure.
Passion for refactoring and building clean abstractions to simplify complex systems.
Strong background in computer science with a degree in CS or a related field.
Currently based or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.
