About the Role

This role shapes the development of frontier technology and influences its trajectory through capital and convening power. It involves working across investments, grants, ecosystem-building, and thought leadership, originating and completing deals, building relationships, and shaping the organization's voice on technology's direction. This is a builder's role for someone fluent in frontier tech, comfortable navigating diverse environments, and driven to ensure powerful technologies are developed responsibly. The role reports to the Director, Programs and Policy.

Responsibilities

Implement and evolve the Responsible Technology & AI strategy across priority domains including frontier AI, nuclear and advanced energy, and brain-computer interfaces.
Originate and maintain relationships across the ecosystem, including AI labs, technology companies, venture capital firms, philanthropies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.
Manage complex stakeholder ecosystems by convening and participating in conversations with diverse constituencies like journalists, founders, researchers, policymakers, funders, and advocates.
Develop the organization's point of view through internal memos and external thought pieces on technology trends and organizational perspectives.
Execute transactions, investments, and grants, including diligence, deal structuring, memo drafting, and managing capital deployment.

Requirements

7+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in product management at a technology or AI company, with exposure to frontier product development and positioning.
Experience in early-stage venture capital, with a track record in sourcing or working on technical deals.
Experience in technology journalism.
Experience in strategy, business development, or growth roles at a technology startup, with cross-functional and external operations.

Skills

Genuine fluency in technology and AI, including understanding technical papers and frontier model architecture.
Track record of self-directed learning.
Ability to engage and translate across diverse intellectual communities in AI, including technical safety research, public-interest tech, venture, and philanthropy.
Proactive approach to originating opportunities, building relationships, and initiating projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of curiosity and intellectual interest.
