About the Role
The Compliance Analyst supports the organization’s compliance and quality assurance activities within Shelter, Residential, and Permanent Housing Programs. This role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, funder expectations, and internal policies, while supporting quality improvement efforts across programs. Working under the direction of the Compliance Manager, the Analyst exercises independent judgment in conducting audits, monitoring program activities, supporting training efforts, and contributing to risk mitigation and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and evaluate audits of clinical documentation, housing stability plans, progress notes, and service delivery records.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to program operations.
- Support quarterly internal audits, external audits, site visits, and accreditation reviews.
- Monitor compliance with contract requirements, documentation standards, ADA accommodations, and client-related requirements.
- Ensure documentation and records are complete and organized for audit readiness.
- Track and analyze program data, including client outcomes, retention, service completion, and performance metrics.
- Assist in preparing reports for HSH, regulatory agencies, funders, and internal leadership.
- Support data integrity by reviewing entries in systems like Apricot 360 and HMIS.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies with program staff.
- Support compliance and quality assurance meetings by gathering data, preparing materials, and documenting outcomes.
- Assist in delivering compliance-related training on documentation standards, HSH requirements, and quality improvement practices.
- Distribute user-friendly guides, job aids, and training materials.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance to staff on compliance-related questions.
- Identify potential compliance risks or gaps.
- Assist in reviewing incidents, client grievances, and documentation issues for compliance investigations.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay current on compliance requirements and regulatory updates.
- Collaborate with department leadership to align program operations with compliance requirements.
- Support accurate data entry and documentation practices in systems like Apricot 360 and HMIS.
- Assist in maintaining compliance tracking tools and program-specific monitoring systems.
- Ensure documentation aligns with HSH contract requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Travel to program sites for audits, monitoring, and staff support.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support compliance and quality assurance functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, healthcare administration) or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, behavioral health, or related field preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit, housing, or behavioral health settings strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and compliance practices.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build working relationships across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with systems such as Apricot 360, HMIS, or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work in a standard office and program-site environment, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional travel.
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of Live Scan fingerprinting, comprehensive background check, and job-related health screenings or clearances.
