About the Role
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager (GM) in ensuring smooth and efficient shop operations, acting as a floor leader, and fostering the company culture. The AGM is responsible for team performance and development, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and contributing to financial and operational success. They extend the GM's role by supervising Team Members, managing daily operations, and stepping into any role to maintain high standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and support the GM to achieve operational goals
- Lead the team during shifts, ensuring quality guest interactions, proper station rotation, completion of critical operational tasks, and seamless operational flow
- Create and execute daily shift plans (DVP) to optimize team deployment, shop throughput, break scheduling, task assignments, and team safety
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to Team Members
- Support recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of a high-performing team, including Shift Coordinators and Scoopers
- Assist the GM with administrative responsibilities, including payroll processing, supply ordering, managing shop communications, maintaining the daily logbook, and tracking key operational metrics (cash handling, quality control, team feedback)
- Process daily cash transactions, maintain balanced change banks, and coach Shift Coordinators on accurate cash handling practices
- Conduct regular inventory counts for ice cream and supplies; ensure product quality and food safety standards are maintained, and facilitate audit and correction of issues
- Deliver exceptional guest service by engaging with customers, sharing flavor stories, ensuring a welcoming environment, and resolving guest complaints promptly
- Assist with budget management by monitoring labor costs, tracking sales performance, and supporting the GM in monthly P&L analysis
- Partner with the GM on maintenance needs, including logging and tracking work orders, communicating with vendors on equipment repairs, and ensuring optimal facility condition
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, health and safety regulations, and local laws
- Participate in local events and initiatives as a brand ambassador
- Perform Scooper tasks as needed, including sampling flavors for guests and maintaining a clean, organized work area
- Taste ice cream daily to effectively communicate flavor profiles to customers
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment through open communication, inspiration, coaching for growth, and embracing company mission and values
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- 2+ years of experience in food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality-focused industry
- 18+ months of progressive experience as a leader, manager, or supervisor
- Experience leading a team of 10+ Team Members in a high-volume retail/restaurant establishment
- Valid food handlers' card (required within 30 days of employment or based on state/local requirement)

Salary/Compensations
- Hiring wage: $28.22 - $30.11 Hourly
- Full earning potential: $28.22 - $34.50 Hourly
