About the Role
Strategic portfolio leadership role within the insurance industry, overseeing financial governance, cost-benefit analysis, program delivery frameworks, and enterprise reporting. This hybrid Toronto-based opportunity offers executive exposure, Power BI analytics, IFRS 17 alignment, and involvement in high-impact transformation initiatives across marketing and business functions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to advance strategic transformation priorities and represent the function in enterprise initiatives.
- Lead competitive benchmarking, process efficiency reviews, and marketing value measurement initiatives to inform strategic recommendations.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide insights to influence portfolio direction and investment decisions.
- Support annual planning cycles and develop comprehensive business cases for key programs.
- Manage program and portfolio financials, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Oversee cost tracking, benefits realization, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards including IFRS 17 revenue recognition, capitalization policies, and accrual management.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks across the portfolio and marketing organization.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting on financial performance, KPIs, and portfolio progress.
- Develop executive presentations, dashboards, and analytical reports to support leadership decision-making.
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards to deliver best-in-class reporting and actionable insights.
- Facilitate ad hoc analyses, synthesize findings, and drive alignment on next steps.
Requirements
- 8 years of progressive experience in portfolio management, PMO governance, or business management environments.
- Strong expertise in program delivery frameworks and methodologies.
- Proven experience developing and evaluating business cases.
- Demonstrated financial oversight experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across business functions.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Experience leading operational and strategic initiatives in complex organizations.
- Background in business-focused roles rather than core IT environments.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and executive communication skills.
