About the Role

The Teacher Aide / RBT provides direct person-centered behavioral services in the Children’s Education Program. This role involves working under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst and in collaboration with Behavioral Services and Education Administration to conduct observations, assist in writing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs, provide training on these plans, oversee data collection, promote PBIS and Tier 1 supports, and provide direct intervention as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Support student learning in personal care, nutrition, and household skills.
  • Teach students safe transitions from “home” to school.
  • Implement educational and behavioral support plans to help students develop independent skills and achieve identified goals.
  • Communicate with classroom teachers and other support professionals to optimize student learning.
  • Complete required data and documentation forms related to student learning and health.
  • Collect, enter, and analyze data for behavioral services.
  • Model communication, social, and interpersonal skills for students and deliver positive feedback as students progress.
  • Train staff on proactive and reactive strategies and supports.
  • Support the implementation of replacement skills related to program goals.
  • Safely and accurately administer student medication upon successful completion of targeted training.
  • Maintain documentation of RBT hours and supervision.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled population.
  • Complete 40 hours of training, pass the competency exam, and maintain certification.
  • Maintain qualifications in the agency's crisis intervention procedure.
  • Capable of initiating or assisting in all components of the agency's crisis intervention.
  • Capable of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility during emergencies.

Work Type

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Experience Level

  • At least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled population

Education Level

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Salary/Compensations

  • $20.00 - $25.25 Hourly
