About the Role

T. Rowe Price seeks a client-facing sales professional to promote Model Portfolios, manage a territory, and own client relationships. This role involves sales and client relationship management for model portfolio-centric advisors, researching industry trends, overseeing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and achieving regional sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate Model Portfolio growth within a specific territory
  • Sell the organization's model portfolio offerings and services to clients
  • Serve as an expert on T. Rowe Price’s Model Portfolios and the broader Model Portfolio landscape
  • Partner with Portfolio Construction Team and Product Strategists to deliver firm-wide solutions
  • Drive significant new business development from strategic prospects
  • Identify and qualify prospects, develop trusted advisor relationships, and influence solution adoption
  • Evaluate strategic potential of prospects; develop and execute plans for capitalizing on opportunities
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned clients, their sensitivities, and business needs to influence decision-making
  • Coordinate sales opportunities for assigned clients across T. Rowe Price business units
  • Partner with marketing and other sales teams to support promotional and pitch material development
  • Generate ideas, messages, and tactics to promote products and services to client contacts
  • Coordinate with the request for proposal team to develop innovative responses
  • Develop and execute relationship management strategy for target engagements to drive sales and ensure successful client relationship performance
  • Retain direct client management of key clients
  • Assemble teams across the business unit to deliver tailored presentations based on client needs
  • Develop new client leads and pitch new opportunities
  • Serve as an expert on best practices, new regulatory requirements, industry trends, and competitor services/offerings
  • Oversee research activities to focus on developing market-based solutions based on client needs
  • Analyze highly complex data, trends, plan changes, and strategies to stay updated on sales/relationship performance
  • Leverage expertise to interpret and apply highly complex key metrics in advising clients
  • Apply significant influence, guiding client decision-making on matters of high importance
  • Negotiate sales across a wide product and services portfolio, engaging internal contacts as directed
  • Apply considerable latitude in determining optimal approach to meet the needs of T. Rowe Price and the client

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience
  • FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses
  • Willingness to regularly travel in sales territory

Skills

  • 5+ years Asset Management sales experience
  • Prior experience selling Model Portfolios preferred
  • Advanced sales, service, and relationship management skills
  • Advanced territory management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
  • Self-directed team player with the ability to work independently
