About the Role

The Technician II ensures optimal performance and reliability of commercial ice machines through installation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role focuses on maximizing equipment lifespan, minimizing service calls, and enhancing customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service, diagnosing technical issues, and leading installation processes. The Technician II also trains less experienced technicians, manages truck stock, maintains company vehicles, and upholds the Easy Ice brand image.

Responsibilities

Ensure optimal performance and reliability of ice machines through installation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Provide outstanding service and support during on-site customer visits.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues, aiming for first-visit resolution.
Train and mentor less senior technicians.
Complete detailed service reports, forms, and logs, including required photos.
Maintain proper truck stock and supplies for field operations.
Manage the pickup and delivery of ice for service calls.
Facilitate accurate customer payments and assist with equipment shutdown or removal.
Maintain company vehicles in accordance with policies, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Adapt to changing operational demands and demonstrate flexibility in work schedules.
Achieve or exceed performance metrics for service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback.
Bag/deliver ice or perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

1+ year experience in diagnosing and repairing commercial equipment (refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related).
EPA 2 Certification.
Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications.
Ability to demonstrate voltmeter operations.
Ability to work a full-time schedule, including a rotating on-call schedule.
Strong communication skills for customer and team interaction.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to repair and maintenance.
Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
Proficiency in maintaining organized records and service documentation.
Demonstrated track record of delivering high customer satisfaction.
High energy, positive attitude, and strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and service protocols.
Strong work ethic and dedication.
