About the Role
The Chemical Technician (Production Associate) team is integral to achieving Lab Alley's vision of being the Amazon of chemicals by safely and accurately preparing products for customers. The role involves handling various chemicals in a safe, controlled environment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees receive full training, and safety is prioritized. This role is suitable for hardworking, organized, and safety-conscious team players who are comfortable working with chemicals and complying with respirator fit requirements, including being clean-shaven.
Responsibilities
- Pack, measure, weigh, and label items for shipment or storage.
- Follow company guidelines and packaging instructions to ensure safety and product integrity.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
- Identify and dispose of defective items before shipment.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks in the workstation and warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to clean, prep, and inventory supplies for packaging.
- Willingness and ability to comply with all regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to wear PPE, including respirators, without restriction.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must be clean-shaven for proper respirator fit.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to frequently perform tasks requiring climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses, masks/respirators, gloves, goggles, and safety toe work shoes.
- Ability to adhere to long periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds safely.
- Ability to use arms and hands for tasks such as reaching, signaling, grabbing, lifting, turning, pushing, and pulling.
Skills
- Prior warehouse experience (preferred).
- Prior chemical handling experience (preferred).
- Proficient in basic math for dilutions.
- Understands volume and weight measurements.
- English proficiency or ability to translate proficiently.
- Skilled in handling, diluting, and measuring corrosive materials.
- Capable of mentoring other Chemical Technicians.
