About the Role
The Director, Program sets programmatic goals and leads the systems, processes, and execution to achieve them. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to implement high-quality professional learning and coaching services, design content, manage projects, provide leadership and coaching, and support partnership development. It is a mid-level management position crucial for delivering, scaling, and improving Teaching Lab's impact on educator practice and student learning.
Responsibilities
- Set programmatic goals and lead systems, processes, and execution to meet them.
- Lead the implementation of high-quality professional learning and coaching services across state and district partnerships.
- Manage project plans, ensure alignment with partner goals, and coordinate across teams.
- Deliver services that drive measurable impact on educator practice and student learning.
- Design and refine research-based, user-centered professional learning content, tools, and resources.
- Engage in iterative development cycles, incorporate partner and educator feedback, and apply best practices in adult learning.
- Manage complex programmatic projects and maintain partner-facing systems, plans, and deliverables.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for team members and project-based staff.
- Support partnership development, contract renewal, and continuous improvement of programmatic impact.
- Supervise Program Managers and Senior Managers.
- Lead project teams and develop leadership.
- Achieve goals aligned with organizational, department, and manager objectives.
- Model Teaching Lab’s values.
- Work a flexible schedule to support operational needs.
- Perform essential project duties and responsibilities.
- Support program/project needs, potentially holding multiple roles on project teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of combined experience in PK-12 education.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching PK-12 students from traditionally underserved backgrounds with demonstrated impact.
- 5+ years of combined experience directing projects and leading teams.
- 5+ years of combined experience planning and implementing projects.
- 5+ years of combined experience working with external partners to manage workflow or deliver services.
- 5+ years of combined experience leading or coaching HQIM implementation.
- Experience setting goals and creating systems/processes for educational programming.
- Experience creating strategy for a team or business function.
- Track record of effective people management.
- Deep knowledge and experience with College- and Career-Ready ELA content and practice standards.
- Experience designing impactful professional learning for educators.
- Experience facilitating impactful professional learning or coaching for educators.
- Experience leading relationships with clients and stakeholders in an education context.
- Experience teaching or coaching at least one specified ELA curriculum.
- Advanced degree (preferred).
- Deep understanding of specified curriculum design and components (preferred).

Salary/Compensations
- $106,000 - $160,335 annually (full salary range)
- $106,000 - $139,825 (anticipated hiring range)
