About the Role

Equinix is seeking experienced shift engineers to ensure the smooth operation of critical infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and evolving systems that power the digital world, offering a chance to make a significant impact.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the seamless operation of facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms.
  • Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including vendor management and permit to work system.
  • Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment.
  • Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs and scripts.
  • Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and handle basic incidents.
  • Complete basic work requests and circuit installations.
  • Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects.
  • Execute works projects to improve site functionality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings is beneficial.
  • In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
  • HV switching experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

  • Experienced

Education Level

  • ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
