About the Role
Equinix is seeking experienced shift engineers to ensure the smooth operation of critical infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and evolving systems that power the digital world, offering a chance to make a significant impact.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the seamless operation of facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms.
- Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including vendor management and permit to work system.
- Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment.
- Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs and scripts.
- Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and handle basic incidents.
- Complete basic work requests and circuit installations.
- Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Execute works projects to improve site functionality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings is beneficial.
- In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
- HV switching experience preferred.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

- ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
