About the Role
The Delivery Specialist maintains and operates store vehicles for safe and efficient delivery of parts and products to professional customers. Responsibilities include collecting money on C.O.D. deliveries and picking up customer returns. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently
- Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, and update vehicle mileage
- Complete daily vehicle inspections prior to operating vehicles
- Keep vehicles clean and maintained
- Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies secure at all times
- Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores) and complete driver return slips
- Communicate customer problems or special needs to store management
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately
- Ensure fuel tank is filled and secure vehicle at the end of the day's business
- Clock in/out according to company policy
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, general stocking, straightening stock, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in, and putting up stock orders
- Occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates
Requirements
- Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system
- Possess a legally required state driver's license
- Meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements
Skills
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
- Familiarity with automotive parts (desired)
- Ability to operate other light store equipment (desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
Salary/Compensations
- $11.00 - $17.00 per hour
- Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums
