About the Role

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a detail-oriented, service-driven Civil Engineer with a focus on water and wastewater projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of conveyance facilities, utility infrastructure, and treatment process improvement projects in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. We value engineers who thrive in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to project success from design through construction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare designs, specifications, drawings, and calculations with support from senior engineers
  • Assist the Project Manager as needed
  • Provide technical expertise to multidisciplinary project teams
  • Write technical reports and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Support project management efforts from conception to construction
  • Lead small projects and attend internal and external meetings as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 6+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Water/wastewater focus preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
  • Experience with site design (layout, grading, drainage) and water/wastewater piping design preferred
  • Knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage, and pipeline/yard piping design
  • Ability to grow technical expertise
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
