About the Role
The Ski Technician performs binding mounts, edge sharpening, tuning, and maintenance on skis and snowboards, and assists retail customers.
Responsibilities
- Sharpen ski and snowboard edges, perform base waxing, tune-ups, maintenance, and repairs on ski equipment.
- Adjust and mount bindings on new and used skis based on skier weight and ability.
- Consult with customers, provide service recommendations, and answer technical questions.
- Review and update work orders, customer concerns, and related service information.
- Assist customers in the retail store to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Maintain a clean work area through light housekeeping duties.
Requirements
- Previous work experience in a Ski Shop.
- Enthusiasm for skiing and/or snowboarding.
- Capable of obtaining current ski binding manufacturer certifications upon hire.
- Weekend and evening work required.
- Ability to follow safety instructions and promote a safe working environment.
- Mechanical ability.
- Customer friendly, observant and well organized.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team, in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in following verbal and written guidelines to perform job functions.
- Required physical abilities include talking, hearing, standing, walking, grasping, manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
