About the Role

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Perform routine maintenance, light cleaning, and potentially collect campground fees. Assist in promoting recreation operations and activities to internal and external sources.

Responsibilities

  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and controlling entry.
  • Sound alarms to obtain help.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy, and restraining trespassers.
  • Ensure equipment operation by performing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, arranging repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Assist in preparing vacant rooms or cottages for new guests, including carpentry, drywall, painting, staining, and other repairs.
  • Assist guests with various needs during their stay, such as camper setup.
  • Deliver firewood, ice, and other store items.
  • Ensure buildings and vehicles are secure at night.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding issues.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and guest-ready.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including ability to remain calm and friendly with upset visitors.
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Boy Scouts of America National Camp (preferred).
  • Facilities Management experience (preferred).
  • Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense.
  • Thorough knowledge of recreation industry programs and amenities.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to listen, see, and move with ease.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good physical condition and strength.
