About the Role
Join the engineering team to develop cutting-edge out-of-home content delivery technology, streaming content to over 65,000 businesses and 150 million monthly viewers globally. This role involves solving customer-centric problems with novel technology, ensuring high implementation quality, fostering a strong engineering culture, and adapting to emergent demands. This is an on-site position in Austin, TX, requiring 4-5 days a week in the office, reporting to the Engineering Lead.
Responsibilities
- Own Android TV applications end-to-end, including architecture, feature development, performance, and release quality.
- Manage the production device fleet via MDM, implementing staged rollouts, canary cohorts, rollback discipline, and monitoring deploy health across 60,000+ venues.
- Utilize AI for bug investigation, requirement refinement, feature scaffolding, domain exploration, and development acceleration.
- Partner with hardware/OS vendors on technical work for the Atmosphere TV device, addressing app/OS boundary concerns and vetting third-party Android applications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders (product, design, data, customer support, sales, content) to deliver robust software solutions.
- Champion best practices, develop engineering culture, and influence the broader engineering organization.
Requirements

- Computer Science degree or equivalent demonstrated expertise, with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- 4+ years delivering world-class customer-facing software products, with strong Android experience.
- Deep understanding of Android development (Android SDK, Kotlin/Java, Compose, MVVM/MVI, Coroutines, Flows, Binder/AIDL, dependency injection, lifecycle, permissions), with a focus on simplicity and maintainability.
- Strong debugging skills, able to distinguish hardware-level constraints from app-layer issues, fluent in standard Android debugging tools (adb, logcat, dumpsys, perfetto), and effective in collaborating with external vendors.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar), with ability to articulate their impact on workflow, limitations, and compensation strategies.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
