About the Role

The Senior Tax Analyst will ensure compliance with regulatory bodies for income tax compliance and reporting across a complex, cross-border asset management platform with exposure to Canadian and U.S. operations.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and organize working papers to support various tax filings accurately and timely.
  • Prepare income tax returns for various corporations and partnerships in all jurisdictions.
  • Respond to income tax and GST/HST/VAT audit queries from governing bodies.
  • Track and maintain partnership adjusted cost base for internal and external partners.
  • Support and contribute to the structuring of new joint ownership arrangements.
  • Research and identify green/sustainability tax credits, including Canadian SR&ED and US R&D claims.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize tax efficiency.
  • Communicate and liaise with external partners concerning tax information.
  • Liaise with Regional and National finance team members.
  • Participate in special projects to support Regional and National management.

Requirements

  • University or College degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in the finance/accounting industry preferred with an emphasis on tax.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian corporate tax.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple demands and changing priorities, and deliver results.
  • Strong learning agility and ability to manage competing demands.
